American Studies 1
American Studies I involves the study of American History from the 1600’s until the Roaring 20’s.  This class has been structured so that a student will get a review of Colonial History until events that lead up the Civil War.  Students will them explore the Civil War, Progressivism, Imperialism, WWI, and the Roaring 20’s in more depth.  Students will study the ideologies of the Native American culture along with understanding and analyzing the viewpoint and role of women, and other various cultural and racial backgrounds.  You will be given the chance to view America and to learn about our fascinating nation.  Just remember this simple quote by George Santayana, an American philosopher, who was quoted as saying, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
